What's up everypwny!
Is this thread a bit lonely?
I'm a human wizard, but most of the time
I just masquerade around as a not as a mime,
but as a 23-year-old software engineer from Oak Ridge, Tennessee,
and as you may suspect, developing games is not exactly new to me.
I've had previous experience since I was a lad in grade school
with most of my old projects being developed with The Games Factory or Multimedia Fusion 2!
In recent years, I've been coding games with Java, Scala, and Javascript + Canvas,
but alas, my experience doesn't necessarily mean I'll have this jam for breakfast.
Though I may be a conjurer of code and a sorcerer of sprites,
Fancy audio compositions are where I lose my might.
But if you're up for playing some otherwise fun games that make an aweful din,
I've been meaning to make a pony game for a while, so count me in!

Welcome Mr Human Wizard!
Very impressive history :)
Good luck during the competition.
And remember to have fun! smile smile smile! :D

Hey, what's up? My name is Steve, and I have been developing games for almost 8 years. I started off with Java when I was just 9 years old, creating simple text RPG's, music players, and text editors. When I turned 12, I picked up Dev-C++ and started working with C to make my games. I created a Text RPG engine with full modding support, even people without basic logic skills could make a game completely their own by just changing around a few .txt files or adding some. I'm still working with C to become even better at it, in fact, I actually picked up a book on game design with C just last night. :)
I'm currently learning C# and XNA, and hope to have that mastered around January of 2013, which I will then move onto C++. Overall, I want to know 6 programming languages by the time I go to college. In no particular order: C, C++, C# (with XNA and without), Java, Python, and Ruby. I'm also experienced with raw machine code and modifying it.
For this competition, I'll probably use something like Game Maker or RPG Maker, as I do not have the time to invest into an engine with school starting up. Who knows, though, maybe I will have time to invest into an engine, we'll see. :)
Past Projects I've worked on:
Zelda: URA Project (Zelda: Ocarina of Time Mod. Beta Tester)
The Elidian Tale (My old project. Lead Developer)
Experimental 64 (Old Java ORPG I worked on. Simply experimenting with servers. Lead Developer)
Pon-Beats (MLP Rhythm game. Lead developer)
MLP: The Descent of Chaos (MLP RPG. Lead Developer)
Other then coding games, I also love to write. So, uh, hi there! I hope to meet some other awesome brony game designers out there! And wishing you all luck, too!

Hi! Name's John or you call me Wish. I've made games starting off with GML since I was in 4th Grade. Making simple block games and etc. I'm an all rounder, I've composed, I've made art, I've written stories and made games counting off with 12 games without commercial stuff. I'm also a Game Maker Community Mentor, I've taught a lot of people in GMC and also in the Q&A.
I've been microsourced since I was in the 4th Year of High School for Game Designing characters and other concepts. One of which is Solatorobo.
I known 8 languages so far. Java, GML, C#, Ruby, HTML, PHP, RGSS and Python. Though, I'm more of a 2d developer and I'm just getting into 3d this year. GML and Java is my forte so far.
For this compo, I'll use my best framework I've used which is Game Maker : Studio exporting for both HTML5 and Windows. I don't have a Mac, Android or iPad to develop games for these yet.
I've been in competitions such as the 5 minute game challenge, Ludum Dare twice, IGDA Manila's game jams and GMC jams.
In case you've not known me. Then you'll probably known these:
Solatorobo : Red the Hunter - Microsourced artist
Wild Arms 5 - Microsourced artist
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Online - Lead Developer
Story of Dreams - Lead Developer
Lost Memories - Event Manager and Mapper
SonEx - Character Artist
Block Pocky - Music Composer
Apple Party - In Progress, Lead Developer
Team Crusade - In Progress, Lead Developer
Angel of the Forest - In Progress, Lead Developer
Pipsqueak Thunder Plunder - The Pretend Game - The Game In - Progress, Lead Developer

Wow, quite some people we got here! Welcome, welcome :)
I've been making games for 3 or 4 years now, mostly in game jams. I've been in the Experimental Gameplay Challenge, Ludum Dare (of course) and a couple weeks ago in 7DFPS as well.
This resulted in a bunch of mediocre games, including the infamous "Ponyville Arena". *shudders*
I made the jump to 3D a year or two ago, though I still prefer 2D for jams as it's just so much less hassle.
I'm proficient in Ruby and Java, know a little C and dabbled in a couple other languages but couldn't find any else I liked.
Using Slick 2D (http://slick.cokeandcode.com/) for most of my (Java) games, Gosu (http://libgosu.org/) when I'm feeling like Ruby and jMonkeyEngine (http://jmonkeyengine.com/) for my 3D stuff
I'm the project leader/lead programmer of "Rain" (http://hazewood.de/phpbb/page.php?p=rain), a tactical team-based first person shooter (doing it right :P) - not much to see and less to play yet.
If you *really* want to check out some other games I made, have a look at my blog: http://rylius.hazewood.de/ (but you really don't want to. I warned you!)
In case any of you are using the same engines/frameworks, please don't hesitate to ask me for help if you get stuck somewhere!

Then there's little me :3. I'm working on Derpy's Quest as my first "successful" game. I use GML because I find it fun to work with. I have not really much exp in game making (yet?), but I hope that I'll get it later on. I'm looking forward to this competition very much. Good luck competitors /) ;D

Hi everypony!
I'm Vanni, from Italy.
I've been making games for a couple of years, but I've used pretty much only RPG Maker.
I don't have much experience, but I'll do my best for this competition! :)

Woops, sorry! Small hiccup with permissions. Should work now!

G'day, I'm Kingsley, from Canada. I draw, I code, I haven't game jammed before. Lets see what happens!
Most of my experience is in GML and Unity/C#, the latter being most comfortable.

Hai everyone~
Name's Steve Chen, going by DShou or DSkyo normally.
I have like 0 years of experience with game development, the various times I've played with any game engines I tend to forget about it in a week or two.
But that's something I want to change, the lack of experience and all, especially since I went with the Gaming Major for college . . . !
(So like, that means I kind of put a challenge on myself to try and be able to learn how to make something 'at all' for this Game Jam.)
So far I'm more a digital artist with some bits of knowledge on spriting (dA link provided in siggy) and I'm currently reading some textbooks on coding and music theory at the moment while I wait for the Jam to start. I'll be aiming towards working with C# and AS3 and also working towards making 2D games.
Yea, I know it'll be extremely difficult, so really my goal for the Jam is to make an extremely simple game that is at least playable even if not entertaining by deadline time.

Hiya!
The name here's Jason. I'm a Linux hacker whose job it is to write drivers for the kernel and X11. As you may have guessed, most of my experience is in massaging data as it traverses the stack from hardware to application and vice-versa. I rarely write applications themselves, and have essentially zero experience with game development.
I'm interested in this jam for two reasons. Firstly, it gives me an excuse to practice my (rarely used) application development skills. Secondly, after the jam is over, I can check out how others have written their games to get an idea of how they work.
Since I don't know any game development frameworks, I'll probably be coding the entire thing from scratch. I might try to scavenge the engine from my Python port of Desktop Ponies (shameless plug (http://localhostlabs.no-ip.org/projects/desktop-ponies)) but I don't know how much that'd help since it can do little more than move transparent windows around the desktop...
My game's guarnteed to be terrible, but whatever 8)

Hi everypony !
I'm SlimStyle and I'm a newbie in the world of game development, but I'm learning. My favorite language is the Python for its simplicity of use, but sometime, I use C/C++ just in case I need a really fast language.
So I hope I will learn a lot thanks to this Jam! I'll try to do my best and make the funniest game ever.

Since this is the thread to know each other, I'm posting again to say that i completely forgot to mention my Youtube account (http://www.youtube.com/user/Nnn0p3). :P
There you can find "experiments" I've done with RPG Maker and progress about my current game project.

Advertising here is perfectly fine :)
Glad to see so many awesome people getting involved in the contest
looking forward to this so much :D
Good luck and have fun! <.< >.> and don't forget to read all the books! ;) 8) 8)

Hello there everypony, I'm Loyk (pronounced "lock").
While this is my first game jam, I'm getting my bachelors degree in both game design and 3D modeling.
I've made quite a few games for classes, obviously, but this will be my first test of how I do outside of class guidelines and expectations.
Also, I need to get going on my portfolio; and I had been contemplating making a pony-themed game before I heard about this - so this is a perfect opportunity in many regards. :D
-
I'm Vladimir from Moscow.
I'm completely self-taught in programming and I'll use Unity3d and C# because those are the things i'm most confident in working with.
I don't really have any expirience in gamejamming and have been working on only one game project in my life but I'm looking for the ways to improve.
I hope this jam will provide some interesting stuff and people to learn from. :D
I also play some instruments so I'll try to compensate with music for my inability to draw properly. Or not. We'll see how it goes. :D

Hello guys.
You guys may know me as Pix3m. This will be my first game jam. My game programming experiences aren't really much to talk about as I'm only familiar with GML and have some familiarity with AS3. However, if there's one thing that I can really bring to the competition, it's game graphics.
Am I good with game graphics? I can say that a certain admin here is using some of my pixel art as their avatar. Just sayin'.

Me:
My name's Compony, @gentlecolt on twitter and I'm part of the organization team of this little competition here ;)
Experience in game development? Well I tried a few things in the past. Java, C++, Game Maker, RPG Maker, XNA, Unity, Unreal Engine, ... but I'm kinda stuck on ActionScript3 / haXe which I'm using right now. I'm also trying to get the hang of mono and monogame because there's no decent haXe IDE on OSX...
I hope you're all gonna have fun!
Let's jam this *squee*!

Hello, My name is Palm.
Don't have a lot of experience in game development, almost intimidated by the merit list people pull out here.
Soo.. uhm.. Well... Hello everypony and good luck. :)
