Can we get more events?

So I've been wondering about this since I joined and gotta ask, why don't we do more events?

One idea I think would be fun to do would be to hold a weekly 1-hour game making challenge. The point wouldn't be to make a large or complex game but to make a game as fast as you can and not worrying about bugs, glitches, or fine tuning. The point would be to compete in what you can do in an hour.

The idea came to me from an event held during the daylight savings change, where you had to create a game in 1-hour so you technically did it in 0-hours. In Construct 2 I was able to make an eightway directional game were you played as a pony who collected several of the same icons on the floor, published it with bugs and all here: http://db.tt/tjPze1wP.

What do you guys think about the idea? If not then will their be any more events?

Matias:
We are currently working on a website rewrite. Once that is done we'll start events again. But until then the activity will be quite silence. But don't worry, we will come back with more events. But the website rewrite is highest priority right now.

EDIT: I'll just reffer to this forum page quick. After some thinking and talking this came up :D

Hmm... Is it possible to at least decrease the number of events you have?
I mean sure, monthly events are nice but could you guys lay off some time for the developers?

You should've taken into consideration for some developers and events.
Such as the MLGD Christmas Event and the MLGD October event.
Since MLGD has challenges for only global major events excluding local american only events. The Crystal Cup on the other hoof only appears for preparations and is most likely to be ignored since it's only a prep event.

You can try making it once in two months instead of once in every one month.
Or once every 3 months, that way the developers could also have a break.

I do want to join the one in January but I don't like to participate on both December Mini-event and participate in the MLGD Christmas event which makes it really hard to choose whether to participate or not for the developers.

Especially having events simultaneously is a bad idea. Unless you have some other way to manage.

Matias:
We don't force people to attend to the events. We have them every month so everypony can have a chance to attend. Instead of waiting 2 months until next time because you were busy. Then you could just attend the next month. That way people have more options. If they want to attend other jams, then they can do that. It's up to yourself to choose what you want to participate in. :)

Rylius:
There'll always be overlapping with other jams, can't avoid that.

3-4 months between each My Little Game Jam seem feasible to me, there's no schedule as of now (mainly due to the lack of a new website). Since the mini jams are meant as fillers between these events they need to have a much lower frequency which is why we decided to go for them each month.

Interacting with other communities (such as MLGD) is a good idea, don't need to have three different events running at the same time.
Might drop the December mini jam?
